After a series of leaks, OnePlus finally launched its latest premium smartphone OnePlus 9RT. The smartphone directly competes with Xiaomi 11T Pro which was introduced just a few days ago. OnePlus 9RT is the successor of OnePlus 9R with multiple upgrades. Apart from smartphone, the Chinese manufacturer also unveiled OnePlus Buds Z2 at its virtual Winter Edition launch event.
Bye-Bye OnePlus 9R?
As per the news reports, the company is rumored to discontinue the OnePlus 9R as it is priced very close to the new OnePlus 9RT. This will not make sense for the company to sell older generation smartphone at a minimal price difference. Gadgets 360 report says that the company might also discontinue the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 8T after the launch of the OnePlus 9RT.
Price & Availability Of OnePlus 9RT
The OnePlus 9RT carries a price tag of Rs 42,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant. On the other hand, its 12GB+256GB variant is priced at Rs 46,999. The smartphone comes in Black and Silver color options. OnePlus 9RT will be available from January 17 on Amazon, OnePlus India e-Store, and offline retail stores.
Specifications of OnePlus 9RT
The OnePlus 9RT gets a 6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. For protection the display gets protection of Corning Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, the device boasts a Snapdragon 888 SoC processor paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Coming to the optics, OnePlus 9RT boasts a triple camera setup at the rear. It gets a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 16MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies and video chats, it gets a 16MP front camera.
The OnePlus 9RT comes fit with a 4500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. The company claims that it can fully charge the device in 29 minutes. Other connectivity options include, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band WiFi, NFC and a USB Type-C port.
Aggressive Start For 2022
With the launch of the OnePlus 9RT, OnePlus India brings out its first smartphone in early 2022. Soon, it is expected to launch the OnePlus 10 Pro in the Indian market. The company listed the device on its Indian website with a message stating ‘Open Sale starts this Spring, stay tuned’. For context, the OnePlus 10 pro launched in China just a few days back.
According to the latest report of market research firm Counterpoint, OnePlus grew 55% YoY in Q3 2021. During the quarter, OnePlus also registered its highest ever shipments in India.
