Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and Google’s Sundar Pichai To Be Conferred With Padma Bhushan

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai were conferred with Padma Bhushan as the government announced Padma awards on the eve of Republic day. Satya Nadella and Sundar Pichai have been honoured for their contribution in the “trade and industry” category.

Padma Bhushan is the third-highest civilian award in India after Bharat Ratna and Padma Vibhushan.

The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year. The awards will actually be handed to recipients in a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, the official residence of President of India. The ceremony usually takes place in March or April.
