Centre Procures 187.89 LMT Wheat In RMS 2022-23


Wheat procurement in RMS 2022-23 has so far benefitted 17.85 Lakh farmers with an MSP value of Rs 37,859.34 crore, the ministry said

The central government has procured a total of 187.89 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of wheat as of 29 May and it will benefit about 17.85 lakh farmers with a minimum support price of (MSP) value of Rs 37,859.34 crore, said the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution on Monday.

Wheat procurement under the central pool is progressing in rabi marketing season 2022-23 in the states, UTs of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar etc, it said.  

Paddy procurement under the central pool is progressing smoothly in Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2021-22, in various procuring states/ UTs, it said

 Also, as of 03 July, a quantity of 863.50 LMT of paddy (includes Kharif crop 755.83 LMT and rabi crop 107.67 LMT) has been procured, benefiting 125.93 lakh farmers with an MSP value of 1,69,246.49 crore, it said.
